Who we are:
The Clun Green festival was born in the early 2000’s as a way of celebrating the traditional May Day bank holiday weekend. Since its conception the festival has grown in both size and stature, whilst remaining a place for people to enjoy the folklore and tradition of the occasion amidst the beautiful Shropshire Hills in the Medieval environs of Clun.
What we are:
We are a Community Interest Company (CIC) comprising of a committee of passionate locals who pride ourselves on providing a small local festival with a big heart and an ever-widening appeal, welcoming visitors from many parts of the country and beyond.
Creative Licence:
The Clun Green Man Committee (CGMC) have worked tirelessly to reimagine the festival for 2026 which has included having to rebuild the website due to unforeseen technical challenges late on in 2025. Despite this we still wanted to improve the appeal of the website and conjure up a sense of mystique and fantasy for you all.
We run on an extremely tight budget, and we have been fortunate enough to have had a lot of the website rework completed with minimal additional costs. However we could not mitigate the time constraints that we faced and we have had to make some sacrifices along the way in order to deliver the website on time.
By adopting some generative AI elements, therefore, we have been able to deliver an all new website in an incredibly short amount of time.
2027 and beyond
We do of course appreciate that for some, this approach could be seen as divisive. With that in mind we want to continue to reimagine what the festival could look like in the future.
If you are a local artist and you feel you can add to the artistic integrity of the festival we would love to hear from you! We want to start planning the 2027 campaign as soon as we can this year, so if you are keen, willing and able to support us please forward us your details on: [email protected]
Thankyou for your ongoing support of the Clun Green Man festival.
