What's on Day three?
Monday 4th May
Monday 4th May
Clun Green Man Festival: The main event! Come and watch as Green Man once again does battle with the Ice Queen to (hopefully!) banish the cold and welcome in the Spring once again..
Battle on the Bridge:
from 10.45am
Arrive early to get a good view of the Bridge,
then join the procession through Clun to the Festival in the Castle Grounds
By popular demand, the battle for spring will take place on its ancestral home, Clun Bridge!
Please note that this ceremony will start slightly earlier than you may usually expect, since we
do have rather a lot lined up for you once we get you all onto the field. We recommend you
find yourself a good spot near the bridge from 10:30am on Monday 4th, for a 10.45am
start. Here, you will be entertained by Morris dancing from two of our favourite sides –
Moonlight and Ragged Oak, a fire breathing/juggling display accompanied by the Ludlow and
Church Stretton West African Drumming Workshop, and of course the spring showdown
between Ice Queen and Greenman, featuring the military support of Les Miles des Marches.
Following this, there will be a procession through Clun, which we would love for you to join.
THE MAY FAIR
The main site will be open to the public from 11:00am for those who wish to avoid the
congestion of the battle, and potential queues at the gates. The programme commences
from 11:30, but Bridge attendees need not panic – our featured headliners will be saved until
after the Greenman arrives on-site at noon. The full programme for the May Fair features the
following:
Circus & Theatrics:
Matt Pang – staged circus show
Orly Rose – aerial hoop displays and workshops
Jester Jack – new Gardening Show for 2026
Circus skill workshops with Nula, Marjie, and their team
Les Miles des Marches – living village and combat demonstrations
Moonlight – Morris dancing
Ragged Oak – Morris dancing
EG Dance Fitness – local youth dance troupe
Music:
Shopfront Heroes
Dustbirds
Innocent Criminals
Vanlife
Ben & Menna
Puffer
If The Dress Don’t Fit
Bakers Dozen
Steve Clarke
…plus a whole lot more, yet to be announced!
As well as an abundance of the best entertainment and music we can find, we invite the best
local artisan craftspeople to demonstrate and showcase their skills, plus over thirty art and craft
traders – many of whom are visiting us for the first time this year. For your sustenance, a
diverse range of local street food vendors who will be serving jerk chicken, fish and chips, mac
& cheese, wood-fired pizza, and everything in between.
