MapRecommendations:
For a quiet approach: Park in the Industrial Estate (£3), and walk towards town, then take Waterloo Lane (opposite the old garage) down to the ford, for a game of Pooh Sticks or a paddle, then continue up the other side: keep going uphill until you reach the Church on your left, then down to the Clun Bridge. A more direct route: Park in the field on the Newcastle road (£3) and walk through the small car park (reserved for permit holders) where you'll find a public WC; walk past that and find the footbridge (with steps) onto the Castle Grounds. A quick scramble: If you are sure-of-foot, make your way to Buffalo Lane and duck through the arch in the wall to get to the Fast Entry. Please be wearing your wristband when you come to the gate(s). |

Accessibility:
Some roads and paths are steep, and are not suitable for everyone. Here are some suggestions if you have limited mobility:
If you can manage steps, but would rather avoid hills and long walks, use the entrance by Clun Bridge. If you have a Disabled Parking Permit, you can park here too (otherwise, use the car park on the Newcastle road)
If you are a wheelchair user, or for any reason need to avoid steps, use the entrance by the Bowling Green.
-The nearest parking is at the Memorial Hall, but there is space for pick up/drop off at the end of the lane.
-The route from 'The Green' Industrial Estate parking, via The Square, to the Bowling Green entrance, is pretty level and tarmacked; this may be the optimum route for those using wheelchairs or mobility vehicles.
Facilities:
Toilets are available in the (reserved) car park by The Bridge, as well as within the Castle Grounds.
