When will I receive my wristbands? Wristbands will be sent out to reach you on or before 30th of April 2024.
How do I get into the festival field? You can enter via the footbridge, behind the toilet block in the Disabled Car Park, or the Bowling Green gate. If you are already wearing your wristband, you can bypass the queues- just show your wristband to a Steward. See MAP.
Can I bring my dog? Yes, if you keep it on a lead and under control. Please ensure that your dog does not cause distress to other visitors, and obviously, please pick up after your dog.
What about drinking cups? To reduce waste, a deposit-and-exchange system will be offered by the bars. Alternatively, bring your own travel cup (no glass).
Leave nothing but footprints: Recycling points will be available around the site. Thank you for not leaving litter around the site or town.
When does it start and finish? The gate to the castle field will open to visitors at 10.30am; stalls will be open from this time, and the first music act starts at 11am. Music continues until about 5.30pm, but some activities may cease trading a bit earlier, depending on demand and weather.
What about the Procession and Battle? The procession is in two parts- Frosty's Procession will go first, followed shortly after by The GreenMan's Procession. They will leave St George's Church, and proceed via Clun Bridge to The Square and enter the festival via the Bowling Green gate. The processions will proceed through the Castle Field down to the 'Bridge Stage', in the lower field, ready for battle to commence at #pm:
If you would like to follow the procession through town, it will begin from St George’s Church at #am, but be aware that there may be queues at the gate.
To be sure to see the battle, you can enter the Castle Field beforehand, and wait for the Procession to arrive; pick a spot with a good view of the Bridge Stage on the lower field.
If you'd like to try to get the best of both worlds, you could watch the beginning of the procession(s), then hurry to get ahead or enter though one of the other gates (you will need to already have your wristband on). Use of the Buffalo Lane Gate is for sure-footed visitors only! See MAP.
Where can I park? Parking is operated independently by local community groups, and is not managed by Clun Green Man Festival. Parking operators will charge a small amount for parking, usually £3 – we recommend that you bring cash. Parking locations are shown on the MAP.
Can I camp at the festival? There is no camping at Clun Greenman Festival, but if you want to camp, contact our nearest campsites: Foxholes near Bishops Castle, Wayside Camping, near Aston-on-Clun, or Black Hill Camping, near Bucknell.
What else is happening during the weekend? Clun Memorial Hall will host a 'Fringe Event' om Saturday 4th May- click here for more information and links to tickets
